The judges updated the finalists for the HP photography contest. We want to thank all of those who submitted photos - the selection process was very difficult. It's now up to the community to vote on a winner of the HP Photography Contest.
Remember, one Grand Prize winner will receive a $150 gift certificate and two runners-up will each receive a $25 gift certificate to HP.com. Again, congratulations to the finalists!

UPDATE - 9/13/07:
Some helpful members of the Vox Community pointed out that we accidentally selected a photo that was not an original photo taken by the entrant. We do want to point out that the entrant did note on his post that he borrowed the photo from a Flickr user. This was an oversight on our part and we apologize for our mistake.

As a result, we needed to remove that entry and update the poll. The judges selected our 6th runner up as a replacement, a magnificent Blue Glacer from Becky. This process did clear the poll results and as a result, we are extending the photography contest for another 7 days. The poll will now end on September 20th at 11:59 PM PST.
Thanks for your pateince and understanding!

Secondly i feel like there is a major flaw in this voting system. I understand that this was all stated in the rules beforehand but I wasn't aware of how this was going to work until now...
After inspecting all the different pictures i realized that only a few are for the same question. How can we compare each picture when they each have a different subjectiveness?
I feel as if there should have been a first round for each question with those winners moving onto a final vote of best overall.
I would have liked a chance to vote on them first by category (eg, which question did they answer) and then when those rounds were done, vote once more on one winner from every category. This method seems a bit short-sighted.
i think i wouldn't find this irritating if they picked 1 from each prompt instead of having a couple that are from the same prompt and ignoring some of the others.
I agree.
Hello everyone,
Thanks so much for your comments. We will definitely take this into consideration for the next 3 polls. You have all been very helpful.
Thanks again for your interest!
In the question that I posted my picture for, it asked "show us a photo that needs explanation". No where did it say that it had to be a photo that was taken by the entrant.
Why is that?
